About Course

In this term, students explore the ways writers represent individual and collective human experiences across a variety of texts. They learn to analyse, discuss, and write about key themes such as identity, memory, and connection — building the analytical and writing skills needed for the HSC Common Module.

By the end of this term, students will:

  • Understand how writers represent human experiences and emotions through language and structure

  • Communicate personal insights effectively through analytical, creative, and discursive writing

  • Apply key textual analysis skills to both studied and unseen texts

  • Meet HSC English Standard Module outcomes for:

    • LGV – Understanding and Using Language
