About Course

In this term, students explore how writers construct meaning through narrative structure, characterisation, and voice. The focus is on understanding how stories are shaped — not just by what happens, but by how they are told. Students learn to think critically, identify deeper meanings in texts, and express their own ideas through clear, purposeful writing.

Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this term, students will:

  • Develop confidence in analysing complex texts and ideas

  • Write clear, structured essays and creative pieces with purpose and insight

  • Use advanced literary terms and techniques to express ideas with sophistication

  • Meet key Advanced NESA Stage 4 outcomes for Engaging Personally with Texts (EIC), Understanding and Using Language (LGV), and Responding and Composing (URL)
